HCC & HRVCC's Veterans Entrepreneurship Program (VEP) Stage 2 is here, and it's FREE! 🎉

Learn the skills you need to start or grow a business in our 5-week Saturday program at HCC Stafford, starting September 21. This is your chance to dive into entrepreneurship, guided by experts, with hands-on learning and a special business pitch competition!

Who can join?
Veterans, spouses, sons, daughters—if you're part of a military family, you're eligible!

Five Required In-person - Saturday Sessions at HCC Stafford Campus, Room W125

9/21 (9 am to 2 pm) - Vet the Venture – Are My Ideas Lucrative? - Assists entrepreneurs in determining the financial viability of their business idea or growth plan. Covers competition, market need, price positioning, differentiators, revenue projections, start-up costs & more. 

Guest Speakers: Karen Sharp & Austin Tenette

9/28 (9 am to 2 pm) - Ignite the Entrepreneur in You! – Explore key attributes, behavior styles and profiles of successful entrepreneurs to challenge yourself, your team and the future of your business. Develop a map of your business idea alongside fellow entrepreneurs. 

Guest Speakers: Thea Goldin Smith & Karen Sharp

10/5 (9 am to 2 pm) - Financials for Small Business Launch & Growth – Prepare for the “why, how & what’s next” in understanding your numbers: past, present & how to analyze & estimate numbers you & your funders need to know to propel you to sustained success.

10/12 (9 am to 2 pm) - Sales & Marketing Powered Up – Insights & tactics to improve your organization’s ongoing market research process, messaging, strategic planning, budget & spending, digital marketing, analytics & measurement, and loyalty & brand advocacy. 

Guest Speakers: Austin Tenette and Leeanne Aguilar

10/19 (9 am to 2 pm) - Minimizing Risk – Protect Your Assets, Your Business & Your Future - Minimize risk considering Liability and tax requirements in the business organization; insurance; hiring employees & independent contractors; operational processes & contract negotiations. 

Guest Speakers: Jennifer Dale and Kimberly Penn

Developed by the Glenda & David Regenbaum Center for Entrepreneurship - HCC Northwest, the Small Business Success Series by HCC© is a 5-module program that offers hands-on learning and interaction with faculty, guest entrepreneurs, business experts, and peer delegates. 

This series is developed explicitly for proposed Veteran and Military-led startups and existing Veteran & Veteran-dependent entrepreneurs actively pursuing the launch and growth of your specific business concept. 

 

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to those students who fully attend all five modules to graduate from the series.
